Cricut just hosted a MAJOR ANNOUCEMENT –they have come out with two new machines! They are launching the new generation of two current lines of their machines – the Cricut Maker 3 & Cricut Explore 3. These machines do ALL of the things the other machines do but with a few super fun added abilities – read below for ALL of the details!
When companies come out with new machines we always wonder what that means for us Canadians?? So the good news is, that I have put together all the information on ow to buy the new Cricut machines in Canada, how to get the best price for the new Cricut Maker 3 & Cricut Explore 3 and HOW can we get these cool new machines?

Are the Cricut Maker 3 & Cricut explore 3 available in Canada?
YES! Good news the Cricut Maker 3 and Cricut Explore 3 machines and bundles are available on the website as of June 10, 2021, as well as some other online retailers like amazon.ca. and they are starting to work with other in person retailers like Michaels as well.

What makes the Cricut Maker 3 & the Cricut Explore 3 different than the other models?
That was my FIRST question! How do these new generation of machines differ than the other ones. Both of these machines do everything that the previous versions do but with added abilities of being able to print up to 12 feet! (when using Cricuts new smart materials) as well as faster cutting times and design improvements such as a phone/ipad dock on the top. There is also the ability to add on the Cricut roll holder (details below on this new accessory!)

The Cricut Maker 3 & Cricut Explore 3 benefits:
Benefits to consider:
The machines can do everything the other machines could do with a few added features:
- Larger than Mat printing:
- Print up to 12 feet long in one consecutive print with their new smart material
- Not sure what a larger than mat project is? Anything that you make that would be BIGGER than the 12×24″ mat size (Click here to see a super fun drive-thru firehouse and accessories)
- Faster: These new generation cutting machines, cut up to TWICE as fast as the current Explore machines when using the new smart materials
- Price point: The price is similar to the current machines but with MORE features!
- Design space Speed: The announcement alluded to some upgrades within design space to be able to load larger projects
- New Materials/Accessories:
- Smart Vinyl & iron on: Rolls allow you to cut up to 12 feet consecutively without using a mat
- Cricut Roll Holder: The new roll holder (designed for the smart vinyl) clips onto the new generation machines to feed the vinyl into the machine as it cuts and store up to 75 feet of vinyl. It has a cutting edge to make clean cuts after you are done printing
- Smart Paper Sticker cardstock
DOWNSIDES to consider:
- To print larger than mat, you need to use Cricut proprietary materials (you cannot use off-brand) however you still can use whatever brand you want when cutting on a mat
- There is no buy back program currently being offered
- The rotary blade does not come in the box standard with the maker, so it you are looking to cut fabric you will need to buy one
How much does the Cricut Maker 3 & Cricut Explore 3 cost?
MACHINES:
- Maker 3: The machine will retail for C$549.99 (same as the current Maker model).
- UPDATE: The original Maker model seems to be significantly discounted and the bundles are a great price!
- Maker 3: The machine will retail for C$549.99 (same as the current Maker model).
- Explore 3: The machine will be C$399.99 (a little bit higher than the current $349 price point)
- Don’t forget!! If you have Cricut Access that you get a discount (10%!) when buying machines and materials! If you don’t have it this is a great time to sign up (haven’t heard of Cricut access? Click here to read more).
Materials:
You can use the materials/mats you already have but you do need to buy the CRICUT smart material if you want to print the larger projects.
- Smart Materials: It depends a lot of what type and length but in general it looks like it will range from $7.99 for the 3 feet and $99 for the 75 foot rolls.
- Cricut Roll Holder: The new roll holder is going to retail for $49
- NOTE: there are currently no buy back programs in place for the machines right now
How can I buy the new Cricut Explore 3 or Cricut Maker 3?
